FAQs: MOBILE TICKETING

Yes, as part of the transition to mobile ticketing, all tickets ordered through the Grand Theatre Box Office and taking place at the Grand Theatre will be able to be delivered in this new method.

What is mobile ticketing? 

Mobile ticketing is the process whereby patrons obtain and gain entry to an event using their mobile phone. A mobile ticket contains a unique ticket verification (QR code) which keeps your tickets safe and secure and allows for easy retrieval and entry at the event.Your tickets will be available shortly after purchase at my.grandtheatre.com

Why are mobile tickets more secure? 

Mobile tickets add an additional layer of security against counterfeit and stolen tickets by having a dynamically changing, unique QR code that is scanned when you arrive at a show. By allowing only one scan per entry, any attempts to duplicate, alter, or sell copies of the mobile tickets will result in denied entry. Please note that the tickets in your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet are valid tickets and should be protected like you would any other ticket.

How are my mobile tickets delivered? 

Shortly after you complete your ticket purchase, you will receive an email receipt as your proof of purchase of your performance tickets. You will no longer receive an email with attached PDF files. Instead, all tickets will now be delivered digitally into your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, where you will be able to log in using the same username and password that you use on Grandtheatre.com to purchase your tickets and view your mobile tickets. Closer to the show, you will also receive a pre-arrival reminder email with the same link to help you access your mobile wallet. 

Mobile tickets will be appear automatically in your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet shortly after purchase at my.grandtheatre.com.

Please note: In some cases, there may be a delay in the delivery of your tickets to your Mobile Wallet. Your tickets should be accessible within 24 hours of purchase.

How do I access my Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet? What do I need to do? 

You will be able to access your mobile tickets via the Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet shortly after your purchase at my.grandtheatre.com. At that point, you will be able to access the Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet via your preferred website browser on your mobile phone. 

Once in your mobile wallet, view your tickets by selecting the appropriate event: 

Do I need to download an app? 

No, you do not need to download an app to access your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet. You can simply open any web browser (ex: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and type in my.grandtheatre.comto access your wallet. 

I’m having trouble logging in to my Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet. Do I have to make a new login username and password for my Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet? 

You will use the same Grand Theatre username and password that you used to purchase your tickets. If you do not have a Grand Theatre login/username because you purchased your tickets over the phone or in person, you will need to contact the box office to have your account enabled for online access.  Please contact the box office at boxoffice [at] grandtheatre.com (boxoffice[at]grandtheatre[dot]com) or  call 519-672-8800 for assistance. 

Is my Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet the same as an Apple Wallet or Google Pay? Can I upload my ticket there? 

Your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet is not the same as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. However, we are pleased to announce that you can now add your Grand Theatre ticket to your Apple Wallet. Simply log into your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet at my.grandtheatre.com, select your performance, and scroll down to the “Add to Apple Wallet icon.” Follow the subsequent steps and you will now be able to view your ticket in your Apple Wallet.  

An integration with Google Wallet will be coming in the future. 

Tickets in your Apple Wallet will appear like any other items in your Apple Wallet: 

When will the dynamic QR code begin displaying? 

QR Codes will display no later than 2 hours prior to your scheduled performance.  Even if a QR code is not displayed, you are still able to Share the ticket as needed, should you wish to send it to a friend. 

Can I still share a ticket with a friend, even if that ticket has been added to my Apple Wallet? 

Yes. To do so, please return to your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, and select “Share Tickets” to complete the process.  Your friend will need to setup a Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet account to accept the ticket.   

Go to your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet and select the ticket you want to retrieve from your Apple Wallet and click the red button to GET TICKET BACK FROM APPLE WALLET. 

Once the ticket is back in your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, you may share it using the SHARE TICKETS button. 

Can I immediately add my Grand Theatre ticket to my Apple Wallet? 

Yes, as soon as your ticket is available in your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, it may be shared to your Apple Wallet.

Can I just take a screenshot of my new mobile ticket? 

No, you cannot take a screenshot of your mobile ticket. This is because the QR code on your ticket dynamically refreshes on a regular basis, so it is not a static image available to screenshot. 
 

Will I receive any PDFs that I can print, or can I print the PDF I already have? 

No, you will no longer receive any PDFs to print out. Mobile Tickets may not be printed or shared by taking a screenshot. 
 

I already have hard copy (mailed/PDF) tickets for an upcoming show. Will they be accepted? 

All physical tickets and printed PDF tickets previously issued continue to be valid and tickets will be accepted at the door.  

What happens when I arrive for a show? 

You can pull up your mobile tickets within your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet on your phone and present your phone to the usher scanning the tickets. Be sure to turn your mobile phone’s screen brightness up to the highest level.

How do I share tickets with friends who might be coming with me? 

Need to share a ticket(s) with a friend? Log in to your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, click on the applicable performance date, then click theSHARETICKETSbutton, and follow the subsequent prompts to easilyshareyourticketsvia text or email.

Please note that some events or packages may not be non-transferable and cannot be shared.

What if I am coming with a group? How do I share tickets with the rest of the group? 

Log in to your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, click on the applicable performance date, then click SHARE TICKETS and follow the subsequent prompts to easily share your tickets via text or email. Or, meet your group at the door to scan their tickets in. Another option would be for members of your group to purchase their tickets separately.

What happens if my friend is late? 

You may share the ticket from your mobile wallet even after you have entered the venue. Log in to your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, click on the applicable performance date, then click SHARE TICKETS and follow the subsequent prompts to easily share your tickets via text or email.

I have tickets for an external event or rental/partner event. Will my tickets get delivered with this new method too? 

I am a Grand Theatre subscriber. How will I receive my tickets? 

Subscribers have the option to receive either paper tickets or mobile tickets.  If you select Mobile Tickets during your 2024/2025 subscription renewal, your tickets will appear in your Grand Theatre Mobile Wallet, at my.grandtheatre.com.

What if I can’t find my ticket, forget my phone or my phone runs out of battery? 

If you can’t find your ticket, arrive without your phone or your phone runs out of battery, you can go to the Box Office the night of and get a temporary ticket. We recommend charging your mobile device before your event to prevent entry delays. 

What if I don’t have a mobile phone or need assistance? 

If you do not have a mobile phone, you may choose an alternate delivery method for your order. If you have already placed your order, please contact our Box Office team at boxoffice [at] grandtheatre.com (boxoffice[at]grandtheatre[dot]com) or by phone at 519-672-8800 after purchasing your tickets.
