Set in New York City in 1899, Newsies is inspired by the true story of the Newsboys' Strike, when hundreds of young newspaper sellers stood together against the powerful publishers of the New York World and New York Journal. A story of courage, solidarity, and young people discovering the power of raising their voices and standing together.
