Cascade Young Playwrights' Lab

Ever wondered how a play begins? The Cascade Young Playwrights’ Lab is a brand-new, hands-on lab designed for curious, creative writers ages 13 – 18 who want to explore the world of playwriting, led by the Grand Theatre’s Apprentice Artistic Director Nicole Wilson.

Whether you’re completely new to writing or already filling notebooks with ideas, this lab offers fun prompts, creative exercises, and practical tools to get your imagination moving and explore what kinds of writing come alive in performance.

How to Apply

To be part of our inaugural Cascade Young Playwrights’ Lab, send us one short paragraph (maximum 150 words) by April 16 at 11:59 p.m., telling us either:

  • About a play or live performance that you loved. What made it exciting or memorable for you? 
     

OR

  • About the kinds of stories you enjoy. What do you love to read or write? What genres, characters, or ideas spark your imagination?
