Backstage Tours

As the Grand continues to keep the health and safety of its visitors, staff, volunteers and artists paramount, please be aware that tours are available on a limited basis until further notice. For more information please contact the Front of House Team at FOH [at] (FOH[at]grandtheatre[dot]com)

See the historic Grand Theatre like you’ve never seen it before with a backstage tour. Get an inside look at what happens on and off the stage of the Spriet and Auburn theatres and what it takes to produce a show at the Grand.

Learn about the many exciting changes and updates from our recent renovations, step inside a dressing room, take a peek at the orchestra pit, explore the costume and props shops, and tour the Spriet Stage with its legendary proscenium arch, one of the last of its kind in Canada. You’ll hear some of the best stories first-hand from your tour guides from the volunteers, staff members and artists who have worked at the Grand – and learn more about our resident ghost Ambrose Small.

If you’re lucky, you may even catch the creation of props and costumes in progress!

Complimentary backstage tours are available for groups on request based on availability.  Tours range from 30-60 minutes (depending on your group and activities taking place in the building).
