Set in New York City in 1899, *Newsies* is inspired by the true story of the Newsboys' Strike, when hundreds of young newspaper sellers stood together against the powerful publishers of the New York World and New York Journal. A story of courage, solidarity, and young people discovering the power of raising their voices and standing together.
