Onstage April 15 to 19 2008
Summon your imagination and its power to transform and comfort. Set on a farm in Perth County in the 1930s, a boy named Owen is coming to terms with the reality of his parents' divorce by escaping into his imagination. Together with his cousins, family and friends they put on a play - a Victorian tale of love, intrigue and passion - interweaving the two stories of reality and escape with the rich language that includes the poetry of Charlotte and Emily Bronte.
A company of high school students will bring this beautiful story by celebrated local poet and playwright James Reaney to life; forty years after its premiere in London's Althouse Auditorium.
