High School Project 2010
2010/11 MainStage Season
|
Opening Night: April 23 2010
Sequel to the hit musical Twist and Shout: The British Invasion. "It’s obviously about the music. That’s what it is. We actually touch on 105 songs. It’s music that I grew up with and love. There isn’t a song in the show that everybody doesn’t know." "Legends is a hit parade of classic rock songs from the '50s, '60s and '70s featuring music from our heroes such as Stevie Wonder, Elvis, the Beach Boys and Beatles and also hits from lesser known wonders the Five Man Electrical Band and The Lovin' Spoonful." "If you want a night out to just kick back and listen to some golden oldies, this is perfect theatre fare! " "At the finale of Legends, the opening night audience immediately jumped up to give a standing ovation, punctuating its wild clapping with whistles and cheers. This accolade was more than deserved. The singers, dancers, and musicians gave a high-octane, all-out performance that made it difficult to sit still and at times had you weeping with laughter. Legends is a worthy successor to its predecessor Twist and Shout: The British Invasion, which played at The Grand two years ago. In fact, it may even be better."
