Serge spends an enormous sum of money on what appears to be nothing more than a white canvas. His old friend, Marc, thinks Serge is the sucker of the century. Their mutual friend, Yvan, tries to broker a truce, but just aggravates both of them. This Tony award-winning masterpiece, directed by Nigel Shawn Williams, explores the idea of what, if anything, defines art - and friendship.
"A wonderful journey full of brilliant dialogue, laughs and compelling truths about friendship."
"From the casting to the design, this is a show that succeeds at every level"
"In the hands of these three talented actors, Reza’s words come to life, the characters well defined, interesting and believable." – Joe Belanger, London Free Press
"Simply put, Art — and, in particular the performances of Kalileh, Smith, and Spencer-Davis — is a masterclass in timing and reaction."
"An absolutely enjoyable 80-minute romp filled with entertaining wordplay, humour, and incredibly gifted performances by the three leads. There’s nothing monochromatic about this production — it’s a rich and textured social commentary that’s well worth your time." – Theatre in London
"FUNNY, ENGAGING… audiences will no doubt debate on the way home" – Washington Post
"...a nonstop cross-fire of crackling language... Reza is a fiendishly clever writer" – Newsweek
