“I meet such interesting and brave people, battling the odds with incredible spirit. They all deserve the best nursing I can give them”.
Tempting Providence is a story about Myra Bennett, one of Newfoundland’s first out-port nurses. Bennett assisted countless patients, delivering more than 5,000 babies and pulling more than 3,000 teeth, reaching her patients spread throughout the 320-kilometre Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland by horse, boat, dogsled and foot. She was the only nurse in the area for more than 50 years and ultimately became a true Canadian hero.
Inspired by the work of Myra Bennett, we want to celebrate the outstanding work of five nurses in London and surrounding area.
Registered Nurses had the opporunity to nominate peers they felt went above and beyond what was asked of them.
Recipients will receive:
Recognition on stage prior to a performance of Tempting Providence.
Two complimentary tickets to the performance in which they are being recognized.
Featured in the Tempting Providence house program.
