3.    Can I direct my gift to a specific fund or program?

Yes, you can direct your gift to three different funds.

When making your donation to The Grand Theatre, you will be asked to choose the fund you would like your gift directed to.

Annual Fund: This is the most important fund to the organization. Funds are directed to the entire operations of the theatre, supporting all of our outstanding professional theatrical productions with acclaimed performers, designers, craftspeople and directors from across Canada as well as from our own community. Your donation directly impacts artists as well, through emerging artist apprenticeships and new play development workshops including the Playwrights Cabaret. These programs offer encouragement, support, and mentorship to the professional arts leaders of tomorrow.

Make a Difference Fund: Your gift will make a difference to the over 12,000 young people each year through our youth programs including the popular High School Project, subsidized student matinees and Student Club, study guides, backstage tours, and specially designed workshops and performances.  Your gift also reaches out each holiday season as the Grand Theatre partners with social service agencies to invite 250 children and their caregivers to a performance of our holiday show. The children also receive gift bags, refreshments and a special visit with Santa.

“Thanks so much for supporting The High School Project! Nothing is cooler than entering an amazing community of accepting people. Glitter-izing the set was tons of fun too.”
Izzy Avola, 2014 Scenic Artist Student

Capital Fund: Though the Theatre is a spectacular building and an asset to London’s downtown core, like anything, it deteriorates without continued upkeep. The fund recognizes the need for continual maintenance and replacement of capital assets.  From time to time there is a special capital initiative – this year sees the replacement of the orchestra pit net, the installation of energy efficient stage lighting, replacement of aging and worn stage rigging lines, an upgrading of the paging and programmed sound/video communication system, and a new digital marquee.

“I love this theatre! It is an essential part of the London community and must be preserved, supported and cherished. Please allow this theatre to continue to giving back to the community it so admirably services.”
Victor Garber, Actor
