Renting The Grand

The Grand is a perfect backdrop for weddings, rehearsal dinners, AGMs, office parties, workshops or any other function where you want to make a lasting impression.

During our "dark" days - those times when the MainStage and/or McManus theatres are not being used for Grand Theatre programs - both venues can be rented.

Capacity: 839 seats Proscenium theatre
Commercial use: $2000/day
Not-for-profit use: $1000/day
Note: Labour, food and beverage costs are NOT included in the rental fee.

McManus Stage - Rental Rates 2015/16 Season 

Capacity - 144 seats

Non-Profit Rates
$175.00 per day - 8:00am to 11:00pm
$875.00 per week - up to 7 consecutive days in a week including dark days if applicable

Commercial Rates
$450.00 per day - 8:00am to 11:00pm

Rental rate includes the following services:
Front of House Manager
Up to 5 hours of House Management time. Extra time will be charged for double show days. For example, for an 8pm show, the H.M. is on duty from 6pm to 11pm and any additional hours will be billed at prevailing hourly rate. 

Box Office staff
Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to show time for ticket sales additional hours will be billed at prevailing hourly rate

Volunteer Ushers
Up to 3 Grand Theatre volunteer ushers to assist audience seating and emergency procedures if necessary.

Housekeeping
Standard cleaning of lobby and audience washrooms, standard cleaning of McManus dressing rooms. Any unusual or heavy duty cleaning required will be billed at prevailing rates.

Licenced Bar service
Beverage service will be available preshow and intermission.  Which bar will open is at the discretion of the House Manager based on building and staff activity additional hours will be billed at prevailing hourly rate.

Building Security
From Sept. 01/15 - May 31/16 the following Building Security hours are included:
Mondays: 7:30am - 6pm
Tuesdays - Saturdays: 7:30am - 11pm
Sundays: 7:30am - 6pm
From June 01/16 - August 31/16 the following Building Security hours are included:
Monday to Friday: 7:30am - 6pm
Any hours required outside the schedule above will be billed at the prevailing rate.

Additional Fees and Charges
3rd Party Liability Insurance Premium of $25.00 per rental contract.
Box Office Fee of 7.5% of net ticket sales and Credit/Debit card changes estimated at 2%.
McManus House Technician billed at $22.59/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
Additional technicians as required billed at $16.51/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
$1.00 per ticket printed for off-site Lessee sales.

Statutory Holidays
Included staffing is at regular hourly rates only. Any additional costs for hours worked on Statutory Holidays will be billed to rental client at prevailing rates.
